Gamedev.js Jam celebrates HTML5 games - build a Web game within 13 days of the jam on a given theme (revealed at the start), it runs between April 13th and 26th. Also, there are prizes!
Theme for this year’s jam is: Mirror. Remember that your entry will be judged based on how well you implement the theme, but you can interpret it however you like.
Join us no matter your skill level - this game jam is a perfect opportunity to create your very first game, or build a prototype for your next commercial hit. Almost two weeks of development time should be more than enough!
You can use #gamedevjs hashtag on Twitter to share your progress, ask for feedback, see what others are building and hopefully help them out if they need it. There’s also a Discord server for direct communication!
Submit an HTML5 game between April 13th and 26th 2021. It can be a solo submission, or a team effort. You can even submit more than one entry if you want to.
Voting will be open to all who submitted a game, and will happen for a week right after the submission period ends - between April 26th and May 3rd.
Games will be voted on based on a given criteria: Innovation, Theme, Gameplay, Graphics, and Audio. The Overall ranking will be based on the summary of those.
NEAR Protocol, Protocol Labs, eBay, Poki, Paras, OP Games.
There are two categories in the Jam: Web Monetization and Decentralized. Both are optional, and the entries submitted to those categories will be judged separately by the panels of experts.
Take part in the Web Monetization category if you’d like to implement Web Monetization API in your jam submission.
Take part in the Decentralized category if you’d like to implement any of the decentralized technologies in your jam submission. Those could be from NEAR Protocol or Protocol Labs (IPFS, Filecoin, etc) if you’d also like to complete any of the challenges, or it can be something else entirely.
Challenges are part of the Decentralized category - there are three to pick from, and you are free to take on any of them, or all at once.
Protocol Labs challenge - use any of the Protocol Labs technologies (IPFS, Filecoin, etc)
Paras challenge - build a card game using Paras markerplace Digital Art Cards
Each and every challenge offers unique prizes, so make sure to check those out.
